While on one of my camping trips in BC, I had the opportunity to photograph Water Lilies and to set up my easel to paint one of them. The day was warm and the sun was shining brightly which seemed to illuminate the large lily pads and create a glowing effect on the flowers. I particularly loved how many of the lily pads had small pools of water gathered in the center as you can see in the image. It was also interesting to see insects landing on them to rest, with some being large dragonflies as though they were sunbathing. Whenever I look at this painting I could almost feel the warmth.

Pink Allure - Rose
This Pink Rose is one of my favorites. I painted it from a photo I took of it from a friends garden last year. I had to position myself in order to position the camera straight on it and not from the top.
This one was very large, almost the size of my hand.
